My boleto is expired

Every boleto comes with an expiration date. You’ll need to pay for it before it expires, otherwise we can’t accept it.

You can always see the expiration date on the boleto. But for reference, if the boleto is issued before 4pm (Brasília time), it expires within the same day. If it’s issued after 4pm, it expires the next working day.

Here’s what to do if you notice your boleto is expired.

If you haven’t paid for it yet

There are 2 things you can do:

  • Download a new boleto from Wedo. Keep in mind that you’ll lose the guaranteed rate, because it takes 1–2 working days for us to get your money after you pay for your boleto
  • Cancel your transfer and set up a new one. You’ll get a new boleto when you do this

If you paid for it after it expired

We won’t get your money if you paid for an expired boleto. But, you’ll get a refund within 1–2 working days.

If you paid for your boleto at your bank, the money will automatically go back into your bank account.

If you paid for your boleto at a lottery house, for example, the money will return to the lottery. To get a refund, you’ll need to go to where you paid, and show them the proof of payment and the boleto. This should be enough information for them to find the money and refund it to you.
